The earrings resemble the "older than old" weapons of multiple ancient warrior groups, though these are particularly inspired by the Fu, or Short Axes, used commonly as a pair in traditional Shaolin Kung Fu. The Fu was originally designed for chopping wood; the Double-Headed Viking Steel Axe is like two guillotine blades welded back to back; and the Labrys of Zeus in Greek mythology, was a show of lightning and storm invoking power. Throughout time, many cultures have incorporated this style as a weapon.
The relative shape appears so frequently in our tiny world, that I have honestly found a style of it for cutting pizza, and it is a fantastic tool I favor for mincing herbs and dividing crusty dough to share.
