"Let's be wild. Let's get this jewelry... welded on." [Flings hair to the side, queue the iconic music of a generation.] The first time I got permanent jewelry done, I felt a slight excited rush! It was a personal treat for having a good working quarter. This is a lovely activity for a small group or bridal party. A mini experience! Like getting your nails done, but without the sweet aromatic joys of that craft.
One session reserves one person's spot to come in for a private welding session. We'll coordinate a time/date with you to suit your schedule. We will have sterling silver, 14k goldfilled, and 14k gold chains available to select from. Your reservation fee will be deducted from the final price based on your chain selection, usually from: $48 to $200.
Info:
Welded jewelry is nothing to be apprehensive about getting. It is a bit more comfy as there is no clasp constantly spinning around your wrist/ankle. It keeps a clean design line going. There is no uncomfortable pressure point caused by a noticeable clasp. It is light in weight... and that's it! Something fun and a sweet bit of comfy decor for your wrist or ankle.
Located in our private metalsmithing studio at 450 Harrison Ave. We'll send you details to get to our studio close to your reserved time.
FAQ
Does this hurt?
Heavens to Betsy, no! What kind of creative monsters do you take us for. But also, here is this shield to protect you from any unknown fears whilst we hold our fingertips up to our micro lightning rod to act as a sacrificial buffer. We live but to serve.
Will it fall off?
As the materials we offer are custom fitted to your wrist/ankle, they will be measured to not fall off. Overtime, as you relax into the jewelry, it may or may not stretch. This depends on the link design. If it ever stretches to the point of falling off, come back in for a welding session!
How do I remove it if I want to take it off?
Great question! We have selected a collection of chains that are possible to cut off with scissors. During your session, if you want a certain style of chain, we'll talk to you about safety, permanence, wear, and how much you like having hands.
We create jewelry based on a safety-breakaway approach: since we're coming from the micro-farm capitol of VT; wearing things that get caught in heavy machinery is a no no. So, if the jewelry is not custom fit, and gets caught, it will take only a certain amount of tiny pounds/pressure, and then break for the love of wrists and finger wiggles! We have designed this way since 2012. My husband and I were climbers and yes, yes I did think paracord jewelry was cool. No one asked. "You're welcome!" -Maui, from Moana
