Another Road Trip Across America Summer!
With some fresh porcelain "shibori" style pieces coming out of the kiln and off of my jewelry bench, I am excited to be writing to you all from the road! The road from Minnesota state to be vague but still specific.
I cannot tell you the kind of visual beauty and goodness I see in everything from dusty dirt roads, to paint falling off building walls built in 1905... but for our second year running, we are crossing the US with our dog Chloe cuddled up in the backseat. We have already stopped to sleep in Rochester, NY and we just left behind Albany, Wisconsin this morning. I have known Rochester for a while now since my husband's sister lived there for almost a decade. Such a beautiful area located in the Finger Lakes region of NY.
But! Because Wisconsin was so new to me, I could believe how gorgeous the farmscaping was and I'm an individual born and raised in Vermont. We arrived in Wisconsin at sunset last night, so the dreamy lighting was already on our side. Warm sunlight flickered and glowed through the trees that were scattered all about the land, and the cows had not yet come in from the pastures.
This morning, we left at 5:20am and again with the magic lighting! The morning fog was still clinging close to the fields and lower dips in the landscape. As the sun began to rise in the east, I thought my mind was about to go bananas from all the beautiful things I couldn't quite capture because I stupid-mindfully put my camera as far away from my finger tips as possible. It was eerie, quiet, and so America the beautiful. Regardless of the missing coastal waters and mountains, I really fell in love with this new-to-me area. Go big or go to VT!
New porcelain rope collection for those subtle nautical vibes you crave.
So! To the reason I'm making this blog update finally and the whole reason we are going on a road trip out west!
Seattle folks, we are coming for you once again. Yay! ...and the crowd goes "ahhhhhh!"
Two, I say TWO Seattle shows for TWO weekends.
Then, my little surprise [drum roll]...
I'll be at the American Craft Council show in San Francisco!! I couldn't be more excited to part of this year's ACC in SF!
So full of happiness and good travel feelings right now. I love my little family and enjoy every single day of what I'm doing with Porcelain and Stone. You may all find that this is said a lot amongst us creative entrepreneur types... but none of what I do could be done without all of you. Thanks for coming along for the ride!
